University Education In Security Panel

A university education in security is it right for you? And what does university education in security even mean? Is a university education the proverbial locked door to hacker success? And if it is- what is the bump key- shim- pick- or high explosive to open that door? A panel of middle-aged white males who expressly disavow any relevant expertise will discuss the advantages- issues- and possible reasons you may (or may not) want to engage in an overpriced long term commitment. What are the benefits- risks- and pitfalls of a university education for the hacker? Is there a meaningful difference between education and training? What is the role of certifications- and accreditation? Arguments against education of hackers have just as much bias as arguments for it. And these pale in comparison to the arguments for and against hacking of education- which may or may not be discussed by this panel. Long term- what is the direction of information security and systems security education for the hacker community?
