If information security professional are going to be taken seriously about the organizations we server we need to become more professional. There are many way of achieving this goal but it's going to take culture change in our community. This talk will define this problem and offer some solutions on how to work toward solving this problem.
Bill Gardner is an Assistant Professor at Marshall University, where he teaches in the Digital Forensic and Information Assurance Program. Prior to joining the faculty at Marshall, Bill co-founded the 304Geek and Hack3rCon. Bill is the coauthor of "Building an Information Security Awareness Program: Defending Against Social Engineering and Technical Threats" with Valerie Thomas, and "Google Hacking for Penetration Testers" with Johnny Long and Justin Brown.?
